Project Overview
Bernard Ireland House was chosen by Bath RUH as the location for their new Specialised Pain Management centre.
It provides specially-designed flexible residential accommodation, group treatment areas including therapy and group rooms, office space and a dedicated therapeutic courtyard area.
Design plans were created in conjunction with staff and patients to ensure an appropriate environment, located on-site but separate from the acute hospital building, in keeping with the ethos of the service to help patients live well with ongoing pain.
Morgan Civil and Structural were involved in this project from concept to completion. Works involved the extensive refurbishment of the existing accommodation blocks and the formation of a new two-storey treatment facility.
The refurbishment work included the opening up of existing rooms by insertion of new steelwork within the confines of limited headroom.
