Project Overview
In the heart of Cardiff City, the Verse project comprised of the demolition of existing building, a 1990s office development, and the design and construction of a new 16 storey RC concrete frame. The new building would provide 152 build-to-rent apartments with associated communal spaces and a ground floor commercial unit. Due to its city centre location the site was constricted by very tight boundaries with existing buildings and public highways to be considered.

Our role involved working closely with and reviewing the engineering design team’s information throughout RIBA Stages 3-5, producing ongoing compliance trackers, and attending meetings with the whole design & compliance teams. We also will periodically visit the site during the construction period, producing regular inspection reports and reviewing any potential remedial works.
In-depth knowledge and experience of large sites, highway works, retaining elements & RC-framed structures was essential for the reviewing process, and will be necessary when undertaking the site inspections or if any site issues arise during construction.
